Minor Surgery by arrangement:

The removal of warts, moles, cysts, ingrowing toenails, verrucae and injection of joints can be undertaken at the surgery, saving you the time and bother of a hospital visit. Please make an appointment to see the doctor if you think you require any of these services.

Local Pharmacies

There are four Pharmacies in Spennymoor all within easy reach of the health centre. All of the Pharmacies will order and collect your prescriptions from the surgery and have them ready for you to collect. For details of other services available please contact the pharmacies directly.

Freedom of Information

Information about the General Practioners and the practice required for disclosure under this act can be made available to the public. All requests for such information should be made to the practice manager.

Infectious Disease

If you have a suspected infectious disease, please inform reception if you suspect an infectious disease, as this will enable us to deal with it appropriately during your visit to protect you, other patients and staff.

Consultations for 16 to 75 year olds

If a patient aged between 16 and 75 years has not had a practice consultation within a period of three years, we are happy, on request, to provide a consultation.

Cervical Smears: Appointment only

Pre-Payment Certificates

If you are not entitled to free prescriptions, a ‘season ticket’ may save you money. This is a pre-payment certificate, please ask Reception for details.

Named GP

In accordance with NHS Guidance, all patients, including children, have a Named GP as well as an accountable GP. For further information, please contact reception.

Unwell Children

Children can still become unwell during these times, like any other, so please continue to contact the Practice as you would normally do so that your child can be assessed and treated quickly where appropriate.

Telephone Advice

If required, the Receptionists can arrange for you to talk to a GP or Nurse by telephone for advice and information.
