How to book an appointment

We offer Routine Appointments to Book in Advance, please Pre-Book your appointment, if it is not urgent.

  • Please make one appointment for each member of the family who needs to be seen
  • We try to keep to time but please be patient if someone before you takes longer than planned
  • Appointments are normally ten minute slots, so if you have a complicated problem, or more than one problem, please ask for a longer appointment
  • It is Practice Policy to allow patients to choose whichever Doctor they wish to attend in the Practice

Please help us

If you are not able to attend your appointment please let us know in time so that the time can be used for someone else. If you are late for an appointment you may be asked to re-book. We operate a Failure To Attend Policy within the Practice, details at reception.

Monday – Friday 08:30 – 1:00pm & 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Appointments can be made up to three weeks in advance, this enables us to offer an appointment at a time more suitable for those patients that require them. The doctors prefer for children under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult, however this may be waived depending on circumstances. Each appointment is usually for ten minutes unless it is for minor Surgery or a medical examination, which takes longer.  Please inform Reception if this is the case.

Daily appointments are available for those patients who wish to be seen on the same day who feel that they have an urgent medical problem.  In these cases patients are asked to contact the Surgery before 9:00am if possible.  For urgent medical problems a Nurse Practitioner or Doctor will always see you on the same day.  However, we are unable to guarantee the Clinician of your choice.

Please remember the following points:

  1. Arrive in good time for your appointment
  2. Let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment
  3. Try not to save up multiple problems for one appointment. A longer appointment can be made if necessary.
  4. The GP can see only 1 person in an appointment slot

In addition

Patients aged 16 – 74 who have not been seen for 3 years, may request a consultation for a health check. (Home visits may be arranged for those unable to attend the surgery).

Giving Consent for Treatment

You have the right to accept or refuse treatment that is offered to you, and not to be given any physical examination or treatment unless you have given valid consent. If you do not have the capacity to do so, consent must be obtained from a person legally able to act on your behalf, or the treatment must be in your best interests.

Your valid consent (agreement to the course of action) is needed for the treatment that’s offered to you before any physical examinations or treatment can be given. If you haven’t given your consent, you can accept or refuse treatment that’s offered to you.

It’s important to be involved in decisions about your treatment and to be given information to help you choose the right treatment. When making treatment choices, you’ll often discuss the options with your doctor or another healthcare professional.

Infectious Disease

If you have a suspected infectious disease, please inform reception if you suspect an infectious disease, as this will enable us to deal with it appropriately during your visit to protect you, other patients and staff.
